Where the idea comes from
The picture resembles popular retellings of the many-worlds reading of quantum mechanics, which circulated widely in Russian popular science before 2003. The books do not derive it from physics and no physics is shown; treating the resemblance as support is the reader's addition, not the author's argument.
What you can actually check
Nothing, and that is the honest answer. No observation distinguishes a life you selected from one that would have arrived anyway. What you can check is the behaviour the idea produces: people who believe their options already exist tend to deliberate less and commit sooner, which is a real effect of a framing, not evidence for the field.
What it does not settle
No test is offered. Nothing distinguishes a variant that was selected from one that would have happened anyway — and that distinction is what the whole claim rests on.

Is the space of variants based on quantum physics?
No. It resembles popular accounts of the many-worlds interpretation, but the books do not derive it from physics, cite no physics, and present no calculation. The resemblance is rhetorical.
What would prove the space of variants exists?
